Why we don't drain
The water holds the liner in place and protects the floor from sun and rain. An empty liner pool risks wrinkles, lifting from groundwater and fading.
Closing steps
- Clean the floor, walls and filter.
- Balance pH and chlorine, plus a winterising product if needed.
- Where frost is possible: lower the level, drain pipes and pump, put floats in the water.
- Cover, well secured.
Send a photo of your garden on WhatsApp. The technician usually answers the same day.
Mild winter, half closing
On the coast and on the islands many people leave the filter running a few hours a day all winter and test the chemistry every two or three weeks. That way the pool is almost ready in April. With a heat pump it can open even earlier.
Opening in spring
Remove and clean the cover, top up the water, start the filter, backwash and bring pH and chlorine to the right levels. If the water is green, see cloudy or green water.
