Water colour: choose the feeling first, then the liner

Water has no colour of its own. It takes the colour of the liner, the sky and the depth. So before you choose a shade, think about what you want to feel when you look at the pool.

  • Samples in your hand, in your own garden's light
  • Plain, textured, stone, mosaic, wood
  • Photos of real pools

Sun and depth change everything

The same liner looks lighter at noon in July and darker on a cloudy afternoon. It is lighter in the shallows and more intense in the deep end. That is why we bring samples to the site visit; if you can, put them in a bucket of water in the sun.

Patterns: stone, mosaic, wood

Besides plain colours, Haogenplast makes liners that look like stone, tiles, mosaic and wood, plus 3D textures that hide dust and small marks better. A good choice when you want the pool to look more "built".

Practical points

  • Very light liners show dust on the floor more easily. Very dark ones show scale at the waterline.
  • Dark liners warm the water a little faster in the sun.
  • In a pool with children, lighter colours help you see the floor.

Questions

Which colour do most people choose?

In recent years light grey and sand. White stays a favourite on the islands, charcoal in overflow pools.

Does the colour fade?

With correct water chemistry, very little. Heavily chlorinated, acidic water is what bleaches a liner.
