How the water circulates
The pump draws water from two points: the skimmers at the surface and the main drain on the floor. The water passes through the filter, then through the salt cell or heater if there is one, and returns through the inlets in the walls.
We aim the return inlets so the surface drifts towards the skimmers. That way whatever falls into the water ends up in the basket rather than on the floor.

How many skimmers
As a rule of thumb, one skimmer per 25 m² of water surface. A 7 × 3.5 m pool takes one, a 9 × 4 m pool two. Position matters more than number: skimmers go on the side the prevailing wind pushes the surface towards. We check this at the site visit.

The coping shows, so it matters
Because the water sits 15 to 20 centimetres below the edge, the coping is part of the picture. White marble for a clean Mediterranean look, timber or composite for warmth, stone for houses with stone walls. All on the coping and surround page.

Who it suits
- Families who want a pool without fuss.
- Holiday homes that stay closed for weeks: less machinery, fewer surprises.
- Windy plots, where an overflow pool would lose water.
If the plot has a view and the pool is the centrepiece, also look at the overflow pool.
