The answers
What exactly is a prefab pool?
How long does it last?
The frame never touches the water and is made to live in the ground, so it lasts for decades. The liner has a 10-year written warranty and usually lasts longer. When it wears out, only the liner is replaced.
Do I need a building permit?
For a pool with up to 50 m² of water surface, a small-scale works approval prepared by an engineer is usually enough. More on the pool permit page.
How long does construction take?
Weeks, not months. The exact time depends on size, ground, access and equipment, and it is written in the quote. See the timeline.
Can I choose any shape?
Rectangle, L-shape, with a recess for steps or a bench. The panels give straight lines. The liner is cut to the exact final shape.
What depth do you recommend?
For most family pools 1.20 to 1.50 m. Less for small pools and spas. We don't recommend head-first dives in private pools of this depth.
How much electricity does it use?
The pump is the biggest consumer. With a variable-speed pump and a good schedule, consumption drops noticeably. See plant room.
How much water does the first fill need?
As much as the pool's volume: length × width × average depth. An 8 × 4 m pool with an average depth of 1.40 m needs about 45 cubic metres. On islands it often comes by water truck.
What happens in winter?
The pool stays full. We lower the level a little, protect the pipes and put on a cover. See winter closing.
Do you build on islands?
Yes. Panels and liner travel easily by truck and ferry, and most of the rental properties we work for are on islands. See pools for villas.
How is the price worked out?
After the site visit, in a written quote per item. We don't give "from" prices. See what sets the price.
Do you build pools for licensed tourist properties?
Yes. We adapt the technical details to whatever your engineer specifies for the property. See the hotel pool.
