Diagnosis in 2 minutes
| What you see | Likely cause |
|---|---|
| Green water, slimy walls | Algae: low chlorine, heat, rain |
| Milky, cloudy water | High pH, too few filter hours, dirty filter |
| Brown or yellowish | Metals in the water (e.g. from a borehole) |
| Foam | Residue from cosmetics or detergents |
Step-by-step clean-up
- Empty the baskets and backwash the filter.
- Bring pH to 7.2–7.4.
- Raise chlorine temporarily, following the product instructions.
- Brush walls, steps and floor.
- Run the filter non-stop until the water clears, backwashing in between.
- Vacuum whatever settles on the floor.

When the level keeps dropping
In summer, evaporation can take a few centimetres a week. But if the level drops much faster, or stops dropping at a certain height, there may be a leak at a fitting or a pipe. Send us photos on WhatsApp.
